Here Comes the Sun

We woke up to a much sunnier and warmer day than we’ve had in several days. When we got to the baby house this morning LM was just starting his breakfast so I got to feed him again today. Porridge with half a boiled egg and cherry juice (Yummy). Boy can this boy eat! That was one big bowl of porridge and he ate the whole thing. Then, after a check by his doctor, we got the OK to go outside – in his long pants and shirt, fleece-lined pants, jacket, cap that covered his ears (not his new Thomas baseball cap) and the hood on his jacket. We spent an hour outside. It was a great day.

All the kids and caretakers must have been tired of being cooped up because there were lots of caretakers walking babies and then the preschool and toddler groups came out. They were all lots of fun and several of the preschoolers were interested in interacting with us today. The preschoolers were very cute. When the toddlers came out, 4 or 5 of them went over to one of the climbers that had a good sized oriental rug over it and dragged it down and brought it over for the toddlers to play on.

After an hour or so we went back in to the playroom. Around 11:45 the caseworker from the DOE came, a very friendly, unimposing woman. Most of her questions seemed like a formality, confirming verbally what we have already attested to in writing. LM was a big hit. He turned on the music on the little piano that Waldo left behind for him and showed everyone what a good dancer he is.

This afternoon we walked to the outdoor Bazaar, a very crowded, noisy, outdoor shopping experience that covers most of a city block and is filled with everything you could ever want from fruits and vegetables to tools and hardware to racy underwear to sunglasses and dish towels and more. There were so many stalls in such a tight space and so many people shopping that all we really could do was look and marvel. Next we walked to the new covered market that is 5 floors of shopping, but by then we were pretty well shopped-out. After that we just took a leisurely walk home.

Tonight we reviewed our last court document with our translator and coordinator to ensure its accuracy. It looks like our documents will be filed on the 16th. The earliest we will be able to get a court date is July 26 and it could be as late as the middle of August. So, everyone think good thoughts for the 26th so we can get home and see Tim by the last weekend of July and bring LM home in August.
